Kaya 2

Kaya 2 is a developmental vehicle designed for supersonic flight topping out at around Mach 1.5 up to an apogee of roughly 12,000” AGL. It's constructed from custom phenolic-fiberglass and carbon fiber composite, O-ring sealed compartments, circumferentially retained aluminum bulkheads, and a metal bolted fin-can and fin set, all manufactured in-house. It features a two-stage, single-separation fully redundant and dissimilar recovery system, and five total flight computers on board with room for an additional one. Kaya 2 was built as a sub-scale vehicle to test new manufacturing and integration technologies for use in future competition airframes, as well as provide a testbed for supporting SRAD avionic payloads.
